Such a huge park and it's lovely. I hang out here with my friend and we go on walks and just chat about life. It's so incredibly peaceful and you almost feel like you're in another world when you're here. Sometimes there can be crowds of other people and it might seem somewhat trafficy but that's to be expected and certainly the place is big enough to share. Definitely would recommend to any nature lovers or just peiple looking to enjoy the outdoors. Also fun for kids and families!
Beautiful park. Dog friendly. Saw turtles everywhere, deer leaping through the grass, butterflies.... Free convenient parking. Easy walking. Great place.
This park seems more structured than anything. One way signs on trails? Thats insane.
Love this place. Geologically diverse. Best during the week, crowded during the weekend in good weather.
A hidden gem in McHenry County. A great place to walk, bicycle, photograph and picnic. Miles and miles of trails that are well kept and beautiful scenery with amazing wildlife. Restrooms thoughout the trails but not all have running water. Picnic tables are random, some with BBQ grills for convenience. Open all year from dawn to dusk. Dogs are allowed to be walked on leashes but you must pick up after your animal.
